Our Mission at Just 4 Them
"Whatever you do to the least of these, you do to me."
- Matthew 25:40
Our mission is to provide Christ-centered support to Haiti's restavek children. Our vision is a world where nobody is neglected.
The restavek program in Haiti is an institutionalized system of domestic servitude and modern slavery. Restevek children are some of the most vulnerable and neglected youth in the world today. Our hope is to end the restavek program in Haiti's largest cities by providing educational, medical, and spiritual support to these vulnerable children in the name of Christ.
What separates us from the many other aid organizations in Haiti is our action plan and commitment to sustainable economic development. We work with community leaders where our projects are located to determine the needs of the areas we serve. Materials used for our construction projects and other initiatives are purchased locally. We are also committed to providing jobs through our projects and educational opportunities.
Our poverty-alleviation model is unique. Instead of simply putting a band-aid on serious economic realities in Haiti, we make a long-term impact. We understand that no one wants to be a beggar for life. Therefore, we equip the youth we serve with the education and resources they need to make their own positive impact on the world and become leaders within their communities.
We believe that increasing access to education is essential to lifting youth out of poverty. For this reason, we have established a primary school for restavek children in Gressier, Haiti. Over 600 students have graduated from this school. Our university scholarship program addresses the lack of skilled labor in Haiti by providing qualified youth the opportunity to study at Haiti's best universities and professional schools. The job opportunities that result from these post-secondary programs will break the cycle of poverty and support future families.
However, we need YOUR help to make the dreams of Haiti's most vulnerable youth a reality. Click HERE to discover how to get involved in our important ministry.
