Emily Jewell
FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR Emily was born and raised in Central Illinois. She attended the University of Illinois where she earned her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. Emily married her high school sweetheart, Chris, in 2005. They have two sons and one daughter and several pets! Emily's awareness and connection with Haiti began in 2014 when friends moved there to start an orphanage. She visited Haiti in October 2018 and joined the J4T board in May 2019. |
Evens Sanon
PRESIDENT Lincoln Christian University Evens was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and raised in Leogane. After graduating from high school, Evens studied at Christianville College in Haiti, and then received a masters degree in ministry from Lincoln Christian University in Illinois. Evens’ personal experience growing up in poverty inspired him to start a school in Gressier, Haiti and found Just 4 Them Inc. |
Shawn Smith
VICE-PRESIDENT/ SECRETARY Illinois State University Lincoln Christian University Shawn grew up in Rio Rancho, New Mexico but graduated from Illinois State University (B.S.) and Lincoln Christian University (B.S. and MDiv.). He married the love of his life, Wendy, in 2005 and they have three daughters Avery, Campbell and Reagan and one son, Tucker. Shawn is currently the Adult Discipleship Pastor at Rochester Christian Church in Rochester, IL. He joined J4T’s board in January, 2018. |
William (Bill) Browning
TREASURER University of Illinois Bill is a two-time graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with both a Bachelor of Science and Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He has over 35 years of professional experience in private business, government regulatory organizations, and non-profit work including more than six years living and working in Haiti for Peace Corps and USAID-sponsored relief programs. |
Georgina Browning
PROGRAM DIRECTOR Georgina is a native Haitian, born and raised in Cavaillon, a prominent commune in the South Department of Haiti. She is a naturalized American citizen and has lived and worked in the Springfield, Illinois area since 2009. She is active with the Rochester Christian Church as a volunteer and teaches a Haitian Creole class attended by parishioners traveling to Haiti for relief programs. |
